Supplies
Notebook with 5 dividers and college ruled paper as well as a pen (blue or black ink only) or pencil to take notes, especially around test time. It is the responsibility of the student to keep up with any notes that are taken. Notes will not be taken every day but please be prepared when they are needed.
Grading Policy
The grading policy will be as follows:
Class work + Quizzes 33%
Projects/Tests 67%
If a student is involved in cheating, a zero grade will be recorded.
Grades are earned not given. It is each student’s responsibility to complete the necessary work in class…not the responsibility of their friends, siblings, or parents.
Late work will be accepted up to the 5th week of the 6 weeks, and the highest grade will be an 80. No late work will be accepted the last week of the 6 weeks except the assignments that are due that week. It is the student’s responsibility to ask about their missing work and get it completed in a timely manner.
Tardies
The student needs to be in the room when the tardy bell rings. When the tardy bell rings and the instructor closes the door, the student will be tardy. All tardies will be recorded.
If tardy,
calmly knock on the door
quietly come in
and apologize to everybody for disrupting class
Classroom Discipline
Rules:
Follow all district and campus policies.
1. Follow teacher instructions
2. Respect others:
-Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself
-No teasing, putdowns, or rude gestures
3. Use school appropriate language; NO PROFANITY
4. Know and follow all class procedures
5. Bring required supplies to class daily

Classroom Procedures and Guidelines
1. Check the front board/wikispace when you walk in as instructions will be posted.
2. Bring materials (pen, pencil, paper) to class each day.
3. FOOD OR DRINKS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE LAB.
4. Take care of everyday tasks (throwing away trash, sharpening pencils, etc.) AFTER I have finished giving instructions for the day.
5. All work must be turned into the appropriate tray before the end of class.
6. All work will be done in class. It is the student’s responsibility to see the instructor about any make-up work that needs to be completed.
7. Students will be expected to respect the people in the classroom and the equipment.
8. Work stations will be left neat, organized, and clean.
9. NO disks, diskettes, CDs, or thumbdrives are to be brought or used in the lab. Cell phones, MP3 players, iPODS, or any other types of personal electronic equipment will not be allowed in the classroom.
10. Students are expected to comply with ALL PHS rules.
11. All rules outlined in the Brownsville Independent School District Student Acceptable Use Policy will be followed.
12. Toward the end of the period, remain seated until I release you….NOT the bell.
13. Each student will be allowed four (1) hallway passes each week, does not carry over. Max 3 individuals out per period.
14. When a substitute is in charge of class, students are expected to be on task and respectful.
